Studentische Hilfskraft (m/w)

Das Cologne Center for Comparative Politics (CCCP) sucht ab dem 01.02.2019 eine Studentische Hilfskraft (m/w).

Die Arbeitszeit beträgt 6 Stunden pro Woche.

Ihre Aufgabe:

  • Erweiterung und Betreuung der Internetpräsenz des CCCP.
  • Assistenz der Geschäftsführung.
  • Allgemeine Sekretariatsführung mit Emailkorrespondenz, Telefonbetreuung und Organisation des Publikumsverkehrs.
  • Erledigung von Verwaltungsaufgaben (Ablageordnung und Aktenverwaltung).

Ihr Profil:

  • Gute Kenntnisse in und Erfahrungen mit Typo3 (bzw. ähnlichen CMS)
  • Gute Microsoft Office Kenntnisse (v.a. Word und Excel)
  • Teamfähigkeit, Organisationstalent.
  • Sehr gute Kenntnisse der deutschen und englischen Sprache in Wort und Schrift.
  • Erfahrungen im Sekretariat oder mit Verwaltungstätigkeiten (von Vorteil, jedoch keine Voraussetzung).

Assistant Professorship (W1) in Political Science with Tenure Track (W2)

The University of Cologne, Germany, invites applications for one faculty position at the Assistant Professor (W1) level with Tenure Track (W2). This call is part of the Federal Tenure Track Programme. It addresses researchers at an early career stage. 

The University of Cologne is one of Germany’s leading research universities and part of the Excellence Initiative. Its Faculty of Management, Economics, and Social Sciences is consistently ranked among the top schools in research and teaching. The Faculty counts more than 100 professors and 250 researchers.

The research profile of the professorship is in empirical democratic theory. Candidates should have a focus on theory-building based on empirical research of democracies. Competences inpositive political theory are an advantage. The professorship will be part of the Cologne Centerfor Comparative Politics.

The position is available as of April 2019 or based on mutual agreement.

The position is located in a dynamic and collaborative international environment, which includes the Cologne Graduate School, the Key Research Profile Area of the faculty Markets and Governments and the Max-Planck-Institute for the Study of Societies.

Candidates should hold a Ph.D. degree in Political Science, demonstrate a track record of international publications, potential for grant applications, participation in international scientific networks, and the willingness to cooperate with the indicated institutions. International experience, such as a Ph.D. from a leading international university or other international teaching or research experience, is highly appreciated. We expect that candidates are able to teach in English.

Applicants will be hired in accordance with § 36 of the University Law of the State of NorthRhineWestphalia. In the third year after entering into office, an interim evaluation is held. This serves as the basis for the decision as to whether an extension for a further three years will be granted to the candidate. At the latest, a final evaluation is held in the sixth year after entering into office. On this basis, a decision will be reached as to whether the candidate will be given tenure at W2 level. Both evaluations are carried out according to the Regulations for Quality Assurance in Tenure Track Procedures at the University of Cologne. W1 professorships comprise a teaching load of four hours per week (i.e., two 90-minute courses per semester) in the first qualification phase and five hours per week in the second qualification phase. W2 professorships comprise a teaching load of nine semester hours per week.
